Greetings in the name of our wonderful Lord Jesus! Amazing things are taking place at The Life Center and our great city of St Petersburg. This Sunday we saw an amazing move of God in our night service, the worship was beautiful. Our morning service was home missions style, with myself leading pre-service prayer, doing worship, taking up offering, and preaching. There's nothing wrong with some good ol' fashioned church!
Sunday morning I preached, "What will you be doing when Jesus comes?". I was driving in my car listening to a wonderful new gospel station, A.M. 1590, and a song song came on that caused me to begin thinking - what might I be doing when the Lord returns? Will I be driving, singing, holding Mirakel? What ever I am doing, I know one thing, I am going to make sure that I am ready! You might ask, how do you know? The answer my friend is simple. Repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus and the being filled with the Holy Ghost. All are essential to your assurance that you will be going to heaven. But we tend to forget that is not the whole story. You can come to church and get 'saved', but just coming to church alone won't save you. The only way to truly know that you are going to heaven, is to totally give everything you are and everything you have to God. As a song reminds us, "I surrender all, all to Him I freely give..." It is when we freely give our past, our insecurities and failures to Him that we will know we are going to meet Jesus in the end.
Our Sunday night service was started with pre-service prayer at 5:30 and what a difference it has made in the atmosphere of the church. Bro Alex led cooperate prayer and worship, doing a wonderful job at allowing the Spirit of God to flow. My message was titled, "It's Time for an Overhaul", reading from Psalms 34. "I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together. I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto Him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him. O fear the LORD, ye His saints: for there is no want to them that fear Him."
What a wonderful passage of scripture! It is so important that no matter what is going on in our lives that we continuously praise the Lord. It should not matter if the times are good or bad, let praise continuously come from your mouth. King David wrote, "I encourage myself daily". Praise is not just for God, but for you also, as encouragement to your spirit. When we begin to praise God for what He has done, what He is doing right now and what He will do; we become strengthened. Psalms 150 says, "Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord". If you can read this right now, be assured that you are breathing, and just for one minute take the time to praise the Lord!
I am so excited about my daughter Mirakel's birthday this weekend, it seems unbelievable that it has been a whole year since this beautiful blessing has entered into our lives. I am so blessed to be her father and my heart swells with joy and pride whenever I hold her in my arms. All church family members are invited to come celebrate with us at her birthday party this weekend at Leeman Park on March 6th at 2:30 pm. |
